Open relationship

After moving from Russia to Germany, a couple decides to open their relationship. What begins as an experiment in freedom leads to dating apps, new encounters, jealousy, desire, and uncomfortable questions about what they actually want from each other. An intimate queer drama about immigration, identity, and how complicated honesty becomes when the familiar rules of love no longer apply.

Dima Barch

DIRECTOR

Dima Barch

Dima Barch is a Russian filmmaker known for his bold visual style and unapologetically queer voice. His breakout short film Dead End combines horror, surrealism, and social commentary. His short The Power of the Strike, set entirely in a bowling alley, was praised by Dread Central for “channeling the anarchic energy of George A. Romero, John Waters, and Gregg Araki.” Now living in exile after publicly opposing Russia’s anti-LGBTQ+ policies, he continues to explore identity, rebellion, and liberation through genre cinema.
